FDA Advisory Panel Votes To Recommend Broader Pharmacy Compounding Of Six Peptides
A divided FDA advisory panel voted to recommend adding six peptide treatments to a list that permits traditional pharmacy compounding, a decision that would expand retail access to the wellness chemicals.
The panel also recommended the peptide Semax, overriding objections from agency scientists. The FDA must still propose a rule, take public comments, and issue a final designation. The process typically takes months to years before the substances can be compounded by pharmacies.
