AMD Announces Anthropic Will Deploy 2 Gigawatts of MI455X Chips Across Cloud Networks and Data Centers
AMD announced that Anthropic will deploy 2 gigawatts of its processors across public cloud networks, neoclouds, and the AI firm’s own data centers. The infrastructure rollout centers on Helios rack-scale platforms powered by MI455X GPUs and EPYC Venice CPUs.
The deployment forms a core part of a server agreement valued at tens of billions of dollars, which includes an AMD equity investment of up to $5 billion triggered by specific deployment milestones. AMD will also integrate Anthropic’s Claude language models to optimize chip performance and accelerate software development, while the companies discussed potential financial backstops for Anthropic’s future data-center leases.
