TSMC First 2nm Chip Fab Hits 20,000 Wafers Per Month, Leading Taiwan Production Ramps
TSMC’s first 2nm chip fab reached a production rate of 20,000 wafers per month, the strongest output among five Taiwan facilities currently scaling the advanced technology.
The facility, known as Fab 20, operates adjacent to the chipmaker’s primary research and development center in Hsinchu. Analysts expect the production ramp to serve a diverse group of buyers, including developers of artificial-intelligence accelerators and smartphone, CPU and GPU chips.
