China June Crude Oil Imports Drop 41.3% to Lowest Level in Almost a Decade

China’s crude oil imports slumped 41.3% in June from a year earlier to their lowest level in nearly a decade, according to customs data published on Monday. Volumes from Russia, the country’s largest supplier, fell 1% to 2.02 million barrels per day.

Shipments from other major suppliers also contracted sharply, with Saudi Arabia declining 57% to 0.83 million bpd, the United Arab Emirates dropping 98%, and Oman falling 96%. Customs records showed no crude deliveries from the United States, Venezuela, or Iran, while Malaysian shipments fell 81%.
