Anthropic has deployed Claude Opus 5 to select accounts on Claude web and Claude Code, where the model is currently labeled as "Opus 4.8".

The rollout follows earlier speculation about a midweek launch. Anthropic has not issued a formal announcement for the model, and a broader release has not been confirmed.

Update: Opus 5 is already live for some accounts, served as "Opus 4.8" in Claude web and Claude Code. It knows things 4.8 doesn't and the output gap is clear, especially frontend.
