South Korea Q2 GDP Rises 0.6% on Quarter, Beating Forecasts
South Korea’s second-quarter advanced gross domestic product expanded 0.6% quarter on quarter and grew 3.7% year over year, surpassing a central bank estimate of 0.4% quarterly growth and a broader market forecast of 3.5% annual expansion.
The data showed private consumption rising 0.4% and facility spending increasing 0.2%, while construction investment fell 0.2% quarter on quarter. The figure follows a 1.7% expansion in the previous three-month period.
