Iran Warns No One Will Sell Oil if It Cannot, Says Hormuz Will Not Return to Prewar State
Iran's parliament speaker and top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that no country in the region would be able to sell oil if Iran could not, and said the Strait of Hormuz would not return to prewar conditions. He also said no infrastructure would remain safe unless Iran's security was guaranteed and that the strait would be secure only without US forces.
Separately, Iran's Revolutionary Guards navy said the entry and exit points of the Strait of Hormuz were under its control and warned vessels against using alternative routes, calling them unsafe and dangerous. A Revolutionary Guards spokesperson also warned shipping companies that the strait's southern route is mined.
