Robinhood CEO’s X Account Hacked to Promote $1.2 Million in Fake Meme Coin
Robinhood confirmed that the social media account of chief executive Vlad Tenev was compromised on Thursday to promote a fraudulent memecoin called Vladhood. On-chain data shows the attacker generated approximately 650 ether, yielding between $1.2 million and $1.3 million in proceeds from the token.
The company’s blockchain explorer later flagged the token’s contract address as a potential scam, and the promotional post was removed. Robinhood stated it is collaborating with X to restore access to Tenev’s account following the unauthorized promotion of the so-called official Robinhood Chain mascot token.
