Ultra-Low-Sulfur Diesel Futures Climb Past $176 a Barrel, Outpacing Brent Crude as U.S. Gas Hits $4
Ultra-low-sulfur diesel futures surpassed $176 a barrel on July 23, outpacing Brent crude’s rise to $100 as wholesale fuel costs accelerate. The commodity jump is already pushing retail prices higher, with the national gasoline average reaching $4.09 a gallon and diesel hitting $5.21 a gallon.
GasBuddy data projects gasoline could reach $4.25 to $4.40 a gallon while diesel climbs to $5.35 to $5.50 over the next two weeks. The advance follows a week of rapid regional price adjustments, with the largest diesel jumps recorded in Colorado, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
