Hormuz Crossings Fall as Conflict Disrupts Shipping Routes; Brent Tops $92
Crossings through the Strait of Hormuz have fallen as conflict disrupts key shipping routes, according to Kpler data cited by Reuters. Brent crude rose above $92 a barrel for the first time since June 11, while US Central Command said the waterway remained open for commercial vessel passage.
CENTCOM said the strait remained open despite what it described as Iranian attacks on 30 ships. Lloyd's List said the crisis has already lasted longer than the shipping industry expected and, if it continues, the Baltic Exchange may change how its Middle East Gulf indexes are calculated.
