EU Sanctions Georgian Kulevi Oil Refinery for Processing Russian Crude in 21st Sanctions Package
The EU imposed a transaction ban on Georgia’s Kulevi oil refinery as part of its 21st sanctions package against Russia, targeting the facility for processing crude supplied by the Russian producer Russneft.
Georgia’s foreign ministry expressed regret over the listing and urged Brussels to review the measure before the ban takes effect in six months. The sanction marks the first action against a major Georgian company as the bloc widens efforts to cut revenue streams supporting Moscow’s oil sales.
