Alphabet Q2 Revenue Tops $119.8 Billion, Beating Forecasts as Google Cloud Grows 82%
Alphabet reported second-quarter revenue of $119.8 billion, topping estimates of $117 billion, and posted operating income of $40.77 billion, a 30% year-over-year increase. Reported earnings per share reached $9.11 against a $2.91 expectation, driven by a $99 billion gain on equity securities. Adjusting for this investment profit, underlying earnings came in at $2.85 per share, slightly missing the $2.90 forecast.
Google Cloud sales accelerated to $24.77 billion, exceeding estimates of $22.46 billion and marking an 82% growth pace that cleared buy-side targets. The segment’s operating margin expanded to 35.6%, up from 20.7% a year ago, reflecting demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and enterprise solutions. Google Services revenue grew 15% to $94.54 billion, while capital expenditure for the quarter reached $44.92 billion as the company continues scaling data center capacity.
