Nvidia, SK Group Announce $500 Billion AI Data Center and Memory Deal
Nvidia and SK Group announced a $500 billion-plus initiative to build artificial intelligence data centers and secure a long-term memory chip supply. Under the agreement, SK Telecom will construct a 2-gigawatt AI facility powered by Nvidia Vera Rubin systems and SK Hynix HBM4 memory, with the first facility coming online in 2027.
The announcements coincided with a separate $200 billion memorandum of understanding between Samsung Electronics and Broadcom covering advanced memory supply and foundry cooperation for AI chip production through 2030. The total package of partnerships between South Korean semiconductor firms and U.S. technology companies totals approximately $950 billion, presented at a tech summit hosted by South Korean President Lee in Seoul.
