SK Hynix Denies Plan to Acquire Intel’s $100 Billion Ohio Chip Campus
SK Hynix denied a report that it plans to acquire Intel’s semiconductor campus in Ohio, stating it has “neither pursued nor decided to acquire Intel’s Ohio site and fab.” The denial followed a South Korean media report claiming the memory chipmaker had entered negotiations to purchase the facility.
The original report said the company aimed to produce memory chips at the site within five years, citing a potential $100 billion fully developed project though $28 billion covers the initial phase. Intel subsequently reiterated its commitment to continuing investments to accelerate construction of the Ohio manufacturing facility.
