Jack Mallers Steps Down as Twenty One Capital CEO in Strike Merger Collapse
Jack Mallers steps down as chief executive officer of Tether-backed Twenty One Capital to return to the bitcoin payments company Strike full-time, following a board disagreement over the firm’s direction.
The leadership change ends a planned three-way merger between Twenty One Capital, Strike and Elektron Energy. Raphael Zagury of Elektron Energy will succeed Mallers as chief executive. SoftBank exited the bitcoin treasury firm in May, leaving Tether with full control.
