Intel Raises 2026 Capital Spending to $20 Billion on Second-Quarter Earnings Beat

Intel reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.42 a share, more than doubling Wall Street’s $0.21 estimate, and posted revenue of $16.1 billion against expectations of $14.4 billion. Data center and AI revenue surged to $6.26 billion, contributing to a gross margin of 41.8% that beat the 39.2% forecast.

The chipmaker guided for third-quarter adjusted earnings of $0.38 and revenue between $15.8 billion and $16.8 billion, both surpassing analyst projections. To support expected growth across products and foundry services, Intel increased its full-year 2026 capital spending forecast to $20 billion from $18 billion. Shares gained nearly 9% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
