US Eases Export Controls on UAE for Military Hardware, Satellites and Advanced Chips
The U.S. Department of Commerce has eased export controls for the United Arab Emirates, granting the government and approved companies license-free access to advanced computing items. The change also relaxes transfer rules for certain military equipment, commercial satellites and spacecraft technology.
The update was published in the Federal Register on Friday, marking a formal shift in policy that previously restricted the Gulf state from purchasing advanced semiconductors and defense technology without individual federal approvals.
