xAI Launches Grok 4.5 Coding Model Priced at $2/$6 Per Million Tokens
xAI has launched Grok 4.5, an artificial intelligence model built specifically for coding and autonomous agents. Developed in partnership with Cursor, the model is now available on the company’s console, Grok Build, and the Cursor editor, with a price tag of $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens.
The company stated the new model consumes half as many tokens per task and runs faster than comparable systems, offering output at less than half the cost of similar rival offerings. xAI emphasized practical engineering workflows over synthetic benchmark scores, noting an internal assessment matching the model’s capability to Claude Opus 4.7. Free trial access is available with reset usage limits, while European Union availability remains scheduled for later this month.
