Apple Signs $30 Billion Broadcom Chip Deal to Produce 15 Billion Custom Silicon Components in the U.S.
Apple announced a multiyear agreement with Broadcom valued at more than $30 billion to design and produce custom silicon and wireless connectivity components. The deal, confirmed by a recent SEC filing, will result in the production of over 15 billion U.S.-made chips for Apple products through 2031.
As part of Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, the agreement includes a $1.5 billion capital expenditure from Broadcom to expand and modernize its Fort Collins, Colorado facility. The expanded factory will focus on advanced radio frequency components and wireless technology, marking the company’s largest domestic manufacturing commitment to date.
