OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol Scores 88.8% on WeirdML, Narrowly Ahead of Claude Fable 5 at Less Than Half the Price

aiai-modelingai-research-evals 171 posts · 76 accounts

On the WeirdML benchmark, OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol at the high setting scored 88.8%, narrowly ahead of Claude Fable 5 at less than half the price. Across 85 runs, none of Sol's results fell below 60% of the state-of-the-art score on the task, compared with two such runs for Fable.

The post said Sol's consistent scoring produced a very small bootstrap error bar, though it added that the uncertainty is probably somewhat underestimated as the benchmark becomes more saturated.
