PepsiCo Tops Revenue and Earnings Forecasts, Warns of Weaker U.S. Snack Sales and Rising Inflation
PepsiCo reported second-quarter revenue of $24.18 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $2.20, beating analyst estimates, while maintaining full-year guidance of 2% to 4% organic sales growth. Operating profit came in at $4.02 billion, missing the $4.06 billion forecast.
The company cited softer-than-expected performance in its North American snacks division, where lower prices reduced top-line growth, offset by an 11% increase in international beverage franchise sales. PepsiCo also warned of rising inflationary pressures for U.S. consumers and said it expects a more gradual recovery in North American performance trends for the rest of the year.
