AI Software Startup 8090 Raises $135 Million Series A Led by Salesforce Ventures
AI software company 8090 announced a $135 million Series A funding round led by Salesforce Ventures, with participation from WNDR, Craft Ventures, The Production Board, and LAUNCH. The capital will fund hiring and compute infrastructure as Chamath Palihapitiya returns to a full-time CEO role. Angel investors backing the round include Adam D’Angelo, Nikesh Arora, and Cliff Robbins.
The startup targets highly regulated sectors, including healthcare, insurance, aerospace, and financial services, with its platform branded as the Software Factory. The software automates the design and building of enterprise systems, helping customers such as a major insurer and a life sciences firm cut manual workflows and accelerate approval cycles. Palihapitiya stated that demand is accelerating rapidly, prompting the current expansion.
