Anthropic Announces $100,000 Hackathon for Claude Science App
Anthropic announced a global virtual hackathon called "Built with Claude: Life Sciences" running July 7-13 in partnership with the Gladstone Institute. The competition features a $100,000 prize pool in API credits and centers on developers and researchers building tools using Claude Code and Claude Science, with applications opening Sunday.
The event follows Anthropic's June 30 launch of Claude Science, an AI workbench application currently in beta for macOS and Linux. Designed for scientific research, the app allows users to search scientific literature, connect to more than 60 specialized databases, and run computational analyses while automatically linking figures and notes to the exact code and environments that generated them. A dedicated reviewer agent also checks citations and calculations before final outputs.
