MGX Raises $49 Billion for AI Investment Fund
Abu Dhabi’s MGX has closed its inaugural AI investment fund at $49 billion in commitments, surpassing its initial $45 billion target. The vehicle, known as MGX Fund I, will provide capital for disciplined investments across the artificial intelligence technology stack. According to the fund manager, the wallet has already committed to backing 14 portfolio companies since inception, building a high-conviction list of AI developers alongside global technology platforms.
The financing is backed by institutional and private investors spanning the Gulf region, North America, Asia, and Europe. At $49 billion, the closing marks one of the largest dedicated pools of capital for artificial intelligence deals to date, underscoring the sustained appetite among sovereign wealth vehicles and asset managers to fund AI infrastructure and technology developers globally.
