Meituan Open Sources LongCat 2.0 AI Model Under MIT License
Meituan has made its 1.6 trillion parameter LongCat 2.0 large language model fully open source under an MIT license, releasing both model weights and inference code on Thursday. The model, which launched publicly a few days ago under the code name Owl Alpha and quickly reached the top three in call volume on the AI routing platform OpenRouter, now allows developers to deploy and modify the architecture without restrictions.
Technical details shared alongside the release confirm that the 48 billion active parameter version was trained using Ascend 910B chips. SGLang will serve as the exclusive inference engine, and the company noted it fine-tuned the model on roughly 35 trillion tokens using a mixed FP8 and FP16 format to optimize training efficiency.

@teortaxestexif you think about it: 910С is roughly 90% of р800. So this is a cluster ≈10X larger than DeepSeek's at the time of training V3 (55 days), for maybe a 3x pretrain. Ok, mixed FP8 vs FP16, CANN… But I can't see it taking >5-6 weeks. Meitua
@eliebakouchlongcat 2.0 (1.6T, ~48B active) weights are now open under MIT license interesting design choice compared to previous iteration is that they keep the same attention shape and REDUCE the number of zero communication experts from 256 to 128
