SharpLink Buys 10,000 ETH, Adding to $1.4 Billion Ether Treasury
SharpLink (Nasdaq: SBET), the second-largest Ethereum treasury company, disclosed it purchased 10,000 ETH, raising its total holdings to 886,725 ETH valued at approximately $1.4 billion. The Nasdaq-listed firm, founded by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, acquired the ether at an average price of about $1,611 per token. The purchase, reported as of June 28, adds to a broader recent accumulation spree that included nearly 29,200 ETH bought over the preceding three days.
Alongside the ether purchase, SharpLink announced it repurchased 2.13 million of its own shares at an average price of $4.69, and raised $75 million last week through a registered direct offering. The combined corporate finance actions align with the company's stated strategy to increase its ether exposure on a per-share basis. Sharplink's treasury holdings have grown significantly as Ethereum prices and corporate adoption have expanded.
