Apple Lobbies for Clearance to Buy Memory Chips From Blacklisted Chinese Maker CXMT
Apple is lobbying the Trump administration for clearance to purchase memory chips from CXMT, a Chinese DRAM manufacturer listed on the Pentagon’s Chinese Military Company blacklist, according to the Financial Times. The report indicates Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago, seeking an exemption to source the chips and diversify its memory supply chain.
