U.S. Treasury Removes Seven Russians and Two Turkish Companies From Sanctions Lists
The U.S. Treasury Department has removed seven Russian individuals, two cargo ships, and two Turkish companies from its sanctions lists, according to an update published Thursday by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The delisting has not been accompanied by a public explanation from the department.
The removed entities include senior figures tied to Russia’s industrial and financial sectors. Among them is Ivan Potanin, son of Norilsk Nickel CEO Vladimir Potanin, alongside executives and board members from Novikombank, Otkritie Bank, Sovcombank, and another Russian citizen. Treasury also delisted two Russian-flagged cargo vessels linked to the State Transport Leasing Company. The Turkish firms, IDA Asansor and DEIN Danismanlik, were previously sanctioned for supplying electronics and components to Russia and helping evade U.S. export controls.
