The Netherlands Commits €250 Million for 700 Cruise Missiles for Ukraine
The Netherlands will purchase 700 Ruta Block 2 cruise missiles for Ukraine in a €250 million deal, according to a report by the Dutch daily NRC. The missiles, manufactured by defense contractor Destinus, carry a 250-kilogram warhead and feature a range exceeding 700 kilometers. The procurement is designed to expand Kyiv's strike inventory for the war against Russia.
According to the Dutch publication, the agreement covers the production phase of the Ruta Block 2 system. Ukrainian officials have indicated that the missiles, which utilize artificial intelligence for target identification, will enable precision strikes on high-value military targets and infrastructure deeper inside Russian territory.
