Kuaishou Spins Off Kling AI at $15 Billion Valuation
Kuaishou Technology Holding Ltd. is spinning off its artificial intelligence video unit, Kling AI, which carries a $15 billion pre-money valuation according to a leaked fundraising deck. The standalone company has reached $500 million in annual recurring revenue, up from $300 million three months ago, and plans to file for a Hong Kong stock market listing in early 2027. Tencent Holdings Ltd., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., and Sequoia Capital are listed as potential lead investors in the funding round.
The fundraising documents disclose Kling AI’s revenue composition for the first time, showing that API access accounts for 60% of sales, professional users make up 70% of the customer base, and 75% of revenue originates from markets outside China. The unit’s valuation has declined from $20 billion to $18 billion and then $15 billion over the past month, even as commercial momentum accelerates. Investors are pricing in intensifying competition from similar AI video efforts by Alibaba’s HappyHorse and ByteDance Ltd., as all three target enterprise customers for workflow automation.
