Securitize Raises $400 Million in SPAC Merger With Cantor Equity Partners II
Securitize has completed a business combination with SPAC Cantor Equity Partners II, receiving approximately $400 million in gross proceeds after fewer than 30% of SPAC shareholders redeemed their shares. Subject to final shareholder approval on June 29, the merger is scheduled to close on July 1, with the tokenization platform set to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ on July 2.
The transaction marks the public market debut for Securitize, which currently facilitates the tokenization of more than $4 billion in real-world assets. The capital raises support the firm's expansion of blockchain-based infrastructure for issuing and managing tokenized securities, a segment that has drawn increasing participation from traditional finance as digital asset settlement integrates with capital markets.
