Williams in Talks to Acquire Momentum Midstream for $5.5 Billion
Williams Corp. is in discussions to acquire Momentum Midstream LLC for approximately $5.5 billion, according to Bloomberg News and Reuters citing people familiar with the matter. The proposed transaction would rank among the largest acquisitions in the midstream energy sector this year.
Momentum Midstream provides natural gas compression and processing infrastructure, primarily serving independent producers in the Delaware and Permian basins. If completed, the deal would allow Williams, a major interstate pipeline operator based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to expand its footprint in the prolific shale region and integrate additional processing capacity. The companies have not publicly confirmed the negotiations, which are in early stages and could still collapse.
