Krea Releases Open Weights for Krea 2 Image Model
AI creative tools startup Krea released the open weights for its image generation model, Krea 2, under a custom license. The weights are available on Hugging Face and launch as two checkpoints: Krea 2 Raw, an undistilled mid-training model designed for developer fine-tuning and LoRA training, and Krea 2 Turbo, a distilled version optimized for fast image generation in as few as eight steps.
The release shifts a portion of Krea's flagship offering into the open weights ecosystem. The company claims 30 million users after raising $83 million to date. Independent benchmarks from the Large Model Systems Organization placed the model at the top of its category for text-to-image generation upon launch, and early infrastructure partners including fal and the SGLang inference engine have already added day-zero support.

@ostrisaiTo test it out, I trained an "omniface" LoRA, and it picked up the concept immediately, even though it is a difficult concept for gen AI models. You train on the raw model, but the LoRAs work well on the turbo model during inference. https:
