OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, has $665 billion in commitments for chips, energy and data centers, The Information reported. Investors will need to assess those commitments before any IPO as OpenAI builds one of the world's largest AI computing operations.

In the first quarter, OpenAI burned $3.7 billion while generating $5.7 billion in revenue and ended March with more than $73 billion in cash and marketable securities, up from about $40 billion at the end of December. The cash balance gives the company room to keep spending, though its path to profitability is likely to face heavier scrutiny before it goes public.
