FBI Captures Alleged $1.2 Billion Medicare Fraud Suspect in Philippines
Federal officials said Herbert Leon Kimbel was apprehended in the Philippines and returned to the US to face allegations that he orchestrated a $1.2 billion Medicare fraud conspiracy. The Justice Department identified him as an FBI Most Wanted fraud suspect.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the suspect fled the US rather than face accountability. The department described the arrest as the second capture from the FBI's recently unveiled Most Wanted Fraudster list in two weeks.
