SpaceX Underwriters Exercise 83.33 Million-Share Overallotment, Taking IPO to $85.7 Billion

businessstocks 231 posts · 100 accounts

SpaceX's initial public offering grew to about $85.7 billion after underwriters fully exercised their overallotment option to buy an additional 83.33 million shares. The move increases total proceeds from the company’s record $75 billion sale and further enlarges what was already the biggest IPO on record.

The added share sale follows SpaceX's June 12 Nasdaq debut, when the stock opened at $150 after pricing at $135 and closed the first session up about 19% at roughly $161, valuing the company near $2.1 trillion. The market debut also pushed founder Elon Musk above the $1 trillion net-worth threshold on paper.
