BlackRock Files 8-A for Bitcoin Premium Income ETF Ahead of Possible Next-Week Launch

crypto 7 posts · 5 accounts

BlackRock filed Form 8-A for its iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, ticker BITA, a regulatory step that often comes shortly before a fund begins trading and points to a possible launch next week. The filing is the latest step toward bringing the Bitcoin income product to market after an earlier amendment disclosed the fund's fee.

BITA is designed to generate yield from Bitcoin through a covered-call strategy. BlackRock's previous filing set the fee at 65 basis points, or 0.65%, below the 95-basis-point and 99-basis-point charges on the two largest covered-call ETFs, and the firm has been racing to beat Goldman to market around July 1.
