Anthropic has filed paperwork for an initial public offering ahead of OpenAI, according to The Information, putting it out front in a closely watched race among major artificial-intelligence companies to reach public markets.
The order may not determine the eventual winner with investors. Rival listings including Uber and Lyft, as well as Datadog and Dynatrace, show that going public first does not necessarily translate into stronger returns.
