Helius Acquires Light Protocol to Build Solana ZK Privacy Layer
Solana infrastructure firm Helius has acquired Light Protocol, bringing the zero-knowledge cryptography R&D shop in-house to build a privacy layer on Solana for private payments, markets and finance. The companies said the effort will be fully composable, on-chain and open-source, and that the deal lets the Light Protocol team focus full-time on Solana privacy initiatives.
The companies said they have worked closely together for the past two years. Light Protocol also said it will continue running and maintaining its ZK Compression protocol and core software development kits for existing users as the combined effort expands privacy infrastructure on Solana.
