Russia’s Seaborne Diesel and Gasoil Exports Drop 18% in May as Drone Attacks Curb Loadings
Russia’s seaborne diesel and gasoil exports fell to around 3.03 million metric tons in May, down 3% from the previous month and 18% from 3.7 million tons a year earlier, according to data from market sources and LSEG. The decline was linked to Ukrainian drone attacks on key Russian ports and refineries that curbed fuel loadings.
The figures provide a quantified sign of disruption to Russian fuel flows as strikes continue to hit energy infrastructure. Separately, over the weekend the Grushovaya oil depot near Novorossiysk, an oil export transshipment facility, was reported hit by Ukrainian drones and later reportedly exploded again, highlighting continuing pressure on Black Sea export assets after the May reporting period.
