Bitcoin, Ethereum Post Worst Weekly Losses Since FTX, Wiping Out $390 Billion
Bitcoin and Ethereum posted their worst weekly losses since the FTX collapse after Bitcoin’s break below $60,000 last week, wiping about $390 billion from the crypto market and triggering roughly $7 billion in leveraged liquidations. Bitcoin fell under $60,000 for the first time since October 2024 during the selloff.
The retreat was accompanied by $1.7 billion of weekly outflows from spot bitcoin ETFs, the largest since February 2025, while the Crypto Fear & Greed Index dropped to 8 from 12 a day earlier, deep in Extreme Fear territory. The latest readings suggest the selloff has spread beyond prices into fund flows and market positioning.
