SpaceX Debuts on Nasdaq, Indicated to Open at $171 After $350 Billion of IPO Demand
SpaceX made its Nasdaq debut on Friday after pricing a record $75 billion initial public offering at $135 a share, valuing the rocket, satellite and AI company at $1.77 trillion. In opening indications, the shares were set to start around $171, about 27% above the offer price, after the deal drew more than $350 billion of total demand, including more than $250 billion from institutional investors.
The listing immediately put SpaceX among the world’s largest public companies. Reuters reported that the IPO made founder Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, while Musk rang the opening bell from Texas and President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell appeared at Nasdaq in New York ahead of the debut.
