Strategy Reaffirms Bitcoin Plan as 32-BTC Sale Timing Spurs Polymarket Dispute
Strategy Chief Executive Officer Phong Le said the company’s strategy is to increase net Bitcoin and Bitcoin per share over time, rejecting speculation that a rare May sale signaled a change in direction. Strategy sold 32 BTC, worth about $2.5 million, in its first Bitcoin sale in four years.
Because the transaction took place in May but was disclosed in a June SEC filing, the timing gap has created a legal standoff over how Polymarket’s oracle will resolve a related market, with tens of millions riding on which date is used. The episode has kept attention on whether Strategy will continue adding to its Bitcoin holdings after the sale.
