Nvidia Unveils 1-Petaflop RTX Spark Arm-Based Chips for Windows PCs, With Surface Laptop Ultra Due This Fall
Nvidia and Microsoft unveiled RTX Spark, an Arm-based chip family for Windows PCs developed with MediaTek, and said systems using the chips will arrive this fall in laptops and desktops. Nvidia said RTX Spark includes a Blackwell GPU, up to 128GB of memory and 1 petaflop of FP4 compute, while Microsoft introduced the Surface Laptop Ultra, a 15-inch mini-LED model with an RTX Spark SoC and up to 128GB of unified memory.
The rollout extends a three-year collaboration between Nvidia and Microsoft on PCs designed to run AI agents locally rather than relying entirely on the cloud. Nvidia said it will also work with manufacturers including Dell, Lenovo and HP on additional laptops designed for agentic computing, broadening the lineup beyond Microsoft's Surface hardware.
