Legal AI Startup Wordsmith Raises $70 Million Series B, Total Funding Hits $100 Million

Edinburgh-based legal AI startup Wordsmith has raised a $70 million Series B led by Index Ventures and Highland Europe, bringing its total funding to $100 million. The company builds AI tools for in-house legal teams that help lawyers draft contracts, handle legal questions and route legal work across a business.

Wordsmith said more than 500 in-house teams use its software to organize, route and complete legal work, helping companies keep more work in-house and reduce reliance on outside counsel and law firms. The company said revenue grew 14-fold over the past 12 months.
