Nvidia's Huang Says Memory Shortage to Continue for Years, SK Cooperation Plan Set for Monday
Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said the memory shortage will continue for several years and that Nvidia may reveal announcements as soon as Monday, as Newsis reported Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey planned to reveal a cooperation plan. Huang is also expected to meet Samsung Vice Chairman Jun on Monday.
The remarks add a more concrete next step to Huang's South Korea trip after he met leaders of SK, LG Group and Naver over dinner in Seoul and said meetings were scheduled with Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung Electronics and SK Group. Earlier in the visit, Huang said the global AI buildout is accelerating, Nvidia plans to start recruiting talent for a research and development center in South Korea, and robotics could become the country's next key industry.
