Nvidia Buys Kumo AI for More Than $400 Million to Add Business-Data Models
Nvidia has acquired Kumo AI for more than $400 million, according to The Information, adding a startup that builds AI models for customer, payment and other business data. Kumo’s foundation models plug into enterprise data warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks to automate predictive tasks including churn and demand forecasting.
The deal could strengthen Nvidia’s push to sell more custom AI software alongside its chips, adding another software-focused asset as it expands beyond its core chip business. Kumo had raised $37 million across two venture rounds in 2022, and its customers have included Reddit, DoorDash and J Sainsbury.
