SpaceX Opens $75 Billion IPO Roadshow at $135 a Share, With Up to 30% for Retail

businessstocks 46 posts · 22 accounts

SpaceX opened its IPO roadshow by marketing 555.6 million Class A shares at $135 apiece, a deal that would raise about $75 billion and value the company at roughly $1.75 trillion. The stock is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX, with the final IPO price due June 11 and trading expected to begin June 12, according to the company’s retail-investor FAQ.

The offering is being pushed well beyond institutions. Fidelity said it lowered eligibility for buying the IPO to customers with at least $2,000 in a retail brokerage account, from thresholds previously as high as $500,000, because SpaceX reserved up to 30% of the sale for retail clients. In a roadshow video, Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen linked SpaceX’s rocket, satellite and AI businesses, while Goldman Sachs projects AI-division revenue will climb to $322 billion by 2030 from $3.2 billion in 2025, the Financial Times reported.

Elon was right that what OpenAI did in its for profit turn was shameful. But what he is doing with the SpaceX, at the likely expense of many people’s retirement funds, is just as shameful.
