Orbital Industries, a UK startup that uses AI to design, engineer and manufacture physical infrastructure, has announced a $50 million Series B led by Plural. Its first use case is AI data centers, where the company said it has made a breakthrough with cooling fluid and signed a multiyear deal with AWS.

The company was founded by Jonathan Godwin, who spent five years at DeepMind working on AI for science, engineering and advanced materials design, alongside James Gin-Pollock and Daniel Miodovnik. Gin-Pollock previously sold a company to Shutterstock, while Miodovnik has worked across finance, government AI and advisory work to the United Nations.
