Iran Reportedly Uses ChatGPT, Gemini to Build Malware and Launch Cyberattacks
Iran has reportedly been using ChatGPT, Gemini and other Western AI models to help build malware and launch cyberattacks.
In previously documented activity, Check Point said Nimbus Manticore, an Iran-linked threat group, targeted the US aviation sector with AI-assisted malware called MiniFast, distributed through fake Zoom and SQL Developer installers. The public material available so far does not identify which specific Western AI models were used in that campaign.
